Neuron Model These models are based on detailed biophysical properties of a neuron and can range in complexity from simplified electrical circuits to highly detailed computer simulations. 
Hodgkin-Huxley Model: One of the most famous biophysical models, it uses a set of non-linear differential equations to describe how action potentials (electrical impulses) are generated and propagated in a neuron. The equations model the flow of different ions (like sodium and potassium) through voltage-gated channels in the cell membrane.

• Integrate-and-Fire Models: These are computationally simpler models that describe how a neuron accumulates incoming signals and "fires" an action potential once a certain voltage threshold is reached. Different variations, like the Leaky Integrate-and-Fire (LIF) and Adaptive Exponential Integrate-and-Fire models, add more biological realism to account for a neuron's membrane leakage and firing patterns.
• Realistic Network Models: Using detailed biophysical properties, advanced models can simulate entire microcircuits or large-scale brain networks. These models, like those developed by the Human Brain Project, can help explain high-level brain functions in terms of cellular and molecular processes.
